Back on the Blogosphere
Hey you! Long time no see!
I know, I’ve been quite absent lately, but trust me, it was for a good, really good, amazingly good reason.
I’m extremely proud to announce two things:
First is that I signed with US Label Melodic Revolution Records.
And second, and just as important, we finally released “Wish You Could Hear” on November the 2nd.
Nick Katona, President of Melodic Revolution Records said this about the track:
“Wish You Could Hear” could easily be the best instrumental song of the year, if not of the decade. This is an epic 12+ minute instrumental rock opera that combines the best of prog & classical music and will soon be considered one of the worlds best instrumentals mini rock operas ever recorded. Pretty sure you have not heard anything like this before, but don’t take my word for it and hear it for yourself.”
Now that it’s done, I must admit, it was one heck of a ride. Arranging it was a hoot, recording it was a hoot, mixing it was a NIGHTMARE. A good nightmare, though.
188 channels later, a few weeks of non-stop mixing, flawless mastering and superb artwork, the 12 and a half minutes epic was finished. Done. Ready to be shown to the world.
“Wish You Could Hear” or as Colin Tench described it “the lovechild between Brian May, Santana and John Williams”, features many Melodic Revolution Records’ artists, such as:
** DRUM ROLL **
Yours truly (APPLAUSE!), affectionately nicknamed The Maestro, from Argentina, playing the piano, the Hammond organ, Minimoog, Mellotron & doing all orchestral arrangements;
The Rock God himself, british Colin Tench, whom you may have seen in other acts like Corvus Stone, The Minstrel’s Ghost, Andy John Bradford’s Oceans 5 and Bunchakeze, dazzling us on electric & acoustic guitars;
The Virtuoso, borrowed from Corvus Stone & Progeland among other projects, the incredibly talented Petri Lindström from Finland on bass and
The Legend, the one and only Robert Wolff from United States doing all kind of loud (and the eventual soft) bangs on drums & percussion.
Our recording studio was located on planet Earth, as we recorded our different parts at Estudios Dorian in Argentina, Stoned Bun Studios in Sweden, PL-Studios in Finland and Kennesound Studios in the United States.
Colin recorded and pre-mixed all guitars at Stoned Bun Studios, Avesta, Sweden, while Mr. Petri recorded his bass guitar at PL-Studios, Jyväskylä, Finland.
Rusty Dimmett at Kennesound Studios (Kennesaw, Georgia, USA) did a great work pre-mixing the drums and ligthening up my work a lot.
The track went from Argentina, to Sweden, then Finlad, then the States, and back to Argentina where I had the job to mix the whole thing. Weeks later, it finally went to Buenos Aires where Fernando Richard mastered (and I really mean MASTERED) it at Genoma Mastering.
There was one very last step missing. Ultimately, the artwork was designed and created by Maite Suarez. Check out her amazing talent on her Facebook Page.
The track is out, available to everyone who’s willing to spend almost 13 minutes of their time listening to the musical manifestation of our madness and overall insanity.
The track can be purchased at the mere price of $1.99 at the Melodic Revolution Records Online Store, or my own Digital Store as well.
You can also find it on iTunes, Google Play, CDBaby and many others, but of course you’ll get the better deal at Melodic Revolution Records’ Store.
In fact, to make things easy, right below this you’ll find a widget where you can buy it directly from this very webpage. You can also play the whole track from it. As the old proverb says “Try before Buy”
We accept any kind of donations, wether dollars, pounds, pesos, yens, gold or silver. By advice of our beloved Andrea Garrison, we’re running a campaign to help yours truly buying a new cellphone. One with Internet on it. This is my current cellphone, and has been for the past 5 years and will stay that way for another 5 years unless something changes.
So help a nice fellow buy a new cellphone that actually vibrates or makes calls more than 50% of the time, so he can tweet, update Facebook, engage with you and blog MORE OFTEN.
And the music is also very good, so that’s also a big plus.
